Tribal woman killed by ‘paramour’ in Mahabubabad village

Hyderabad: A tribal woman was found murdered in Mahabubabad district on Saturday. The victim, Tejavath Jyoti, is suspected to have been killed by her alleged paramour G Ramesh.

According to police, Jyoti, hailing from Mena thanda of Mannegudem village, has been separated from her husband a couple of years ago. She has since then stayed with her children, Sandhya and Sandeep, at her parents’ place. Meanwhile, she became friends with Ramesh from a neighboring village and soon they entered into a relationship.

On Friday being Shivaratri, Kurivi jatara was organized at their village. She left her children at home and went to the jatara along with Ramesh.

While on the way, they had an argument over a petty issue, during which Ramesh became aggressive and assaulted her. Further he throttled her and killed her. He abandoned her body at the spot and fled. On Saturday morning, villagers found her body lying in the outskirts and alerted her parents and also informed the police.

Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem.

Police registered a murder case and started investigation. Meanwhile, special teams have also been deputed to nab Ramesh, who reportedly has been detained for questioning. Further investigation is underway.
