The police said the man stabbed his wife to death and killed himself by consuming pesticide. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The police took the bodies to the government hospital for autopsy.

The couple, who has been identified as Pasupuleti Ranga Rao and his wife P. Kalavathi (55), had started a business in Vijayawada. Their younger son had died in a road accident a few years ago while their eldest son had joined the family business.
