TRS MLA celebrates birthday with crowd of supporters, party leaders amidst lockdown

Hyderabad: As part of the nationwide lockdown, celebrations and gatherings have been banned across the country in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, in Telangana, TRS leaders and elected representatives have repeatedly violated the lockdown guidelines imposed by the state government which, incidentally, is led by the TRS. On 16 May, photos and videos of TRS MLA from Vikarabad, Kale Yadaiah, celebrating his birthday went viral on various social media platforms.

A birthday party was organised in Vikarabad town for the MLA who turned 58 on Saturday. A grand celebration was arranged and his supporters from the constituency and several party workers and leaders from different parts of the district attended.

The MLA was presented with bouquets, gaja mala (big garland), and cakes. He cut the birthday cake while surrounded by a crowd of cheering supporters. He also posed for selfies with them violating the social distancing rules.

Mr Yadaiah was elected an MLA in 2014 when he contested as a Congress candidate. However, he defected to TRS and in the December 2018 election was elected the party's MLA.
