TRS MLAs SUV kills pedestrian

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man died in an accident on Srisailam highway at Maheswaram on the Hyderabad outskirts, when an SUV in which TRS MLA from Kalwakurthy K Kapal Yadav was travelling. As a result of the accident, traffic came to a standstill on the busy highway with villagers protesting with the victim's body and demanding compensation. The victim is identified as K Jagannatha Rao. The MLA left the spot leaving behind his vehicle.

Jagannatha Rao hailing from Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh is working at a private school located by the highway at Maheswaram. On Sunday around 8 pm, he was crossing the road on his bike. Meanwhile, the vehicle TS 07GV 6669, in which the MLA was travelling was heading towards the city from Kalwakurthy.

The vehicle driver lost control and hit the victim's bike. As a result, the victim sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Villagers who noticed the accident gathered in significant numbers in protest and staged a sit-in on the highway.

However, after police intervened and assured of justice, they withdrew the protest, and the body was then shifted for postmortem. A case is registered against MLA's driver, and the vehicle was seized.
