TS employees want age hike to be implemented from Dasara

Hyderabad: Elated government employees in Telangana have pinned their hopes on K Chandrashekar Rao's administration to implement the retirement age hike from this year's Dussehra festival, which falls on October 8.

The fresh statement of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, made at the Panchayat Raj department meeting on Tuesday, has come as a big relief for many government employees. KCR stated that the government was contemplating increasing the retirement age of government staff to 60 or 61 years. He added that discussions are underway, whether to increase the present age limit for retirement (58 years) by 2 or 3 years. Rao pointed out that this promise was made in his party manifesto during the 2018 Assembly elections and he was fully committed to implementing it.

Telangana Udyogula Sangham president, A Padmachary welcomed the CM's statements on the retirement age hike for government staff. He called upon fellow colleagues who filed cases in courts earlier seeking promotions in service. The CM himself stressed that his government would give regular promotions and would also prepare promotion charts in every department so that each employee would know in advance the day he or she would be promoted in the job, he pointed out.
