Turf war behind Langar Houz double murder: Police sources

Hyderabad: Investigations into Langar Houz double murder case are pointing towards a possible turf war between two criminal gangs operating in Golconda and surrounding areas
Sheikh Mohammed, a history-sheeter from Golconda and his friend Fayaz, a chicken shop owner, were brutally murdered by a group of three persons late on Friday night near Langar Houz.
The victims were on a bike when the accused on board an SUV hit them at Langar Houz. The accused later attacked the duo with sharp weapons. One of them died on the spot, while another succumbed at a private hospital
Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone AR Srinivas told media persons that they have got some leads and special teams are working to nab the culprits.
Later, the West zone task force team swung into action and nabbed the accused.
According to police sources, gangster Ashfaq is the mastermind behind the double murder. He was having rivalry with Mohammed for a very long time and both had been threatening each other of dire consequences. Police are now probing the motive behind killing Fayaz.
