TV actress dies by suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A television actress, Maddela Sabeera alias Rekha, 42, died by suicide at her house in Vidyanagar, Hyderabad.

According to the police, Sabeera, a native of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, moved to Hyderabad pursuing her dream to act in movies. She acted in a couple of television serials but after that there were no offers. Then she returned to Guntur and got married. However, differences arose between the couple after the birth of a girl child, due to which they got separated. A couple of years later, she got married to one Chaitanya and shifted to Hyderabad and has been living at Vidyanagar.

Chaitanya was into real estate business and she resumed her career in the television industry. She worked as an anchor in television and also sang at some functions. Gradually, offers began declining and her husband’s real estate business too ran into losses due to which she reportedly plunged into depression.

On Wednesday, she went to take bath but did not come out from the bathroom even after a long time. Her husband went looking for her. Finding the bathroom door closed, he called her but there was no response. Immediately, he alerted the police who rushed to the spot and found her dead in the bathroom.

A case has been registered and investigation is on.
