Two fishermen die, four go missing in Krishna district
By Newsmeter Network Published on 9 April 2020 8:33 AM GMTVijayawada: In two separate incidents, two fishermen died and four who went missing are feared to have drowned in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
In the first incident, a group of 15 fishermen from Gudu Dibbapallipalem village of Kruthivennu mandal ventured into the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday night. The boat overturned due to hailstorm in the sea. Of three fishermen, who went missing, bodies of V. Venkateshwarlu (60) and B. Narasimha Murthy (60) have washed ashore. While a search is on for the missing person M. Nageshwar Rao, 12 of their associates reached the shore safely.
In another incident, of the 5 fishermen from Vorligondi Tippa village under Kruthivennu mandal of Krishna district, only 2 of them have returned. The remaining 3 are reported missing.
Fisheries department officials have alerted the police, revenue officials and a search is on for the missing. However, locals fear that the three might have drowned.
