Two Maoists gunned down by cops in an exchange of fire in Vizag Agency

Visakhapatnam: In an exchange of fire between the security forces and Maoists of the East division near Mandapalle forest area under GK Veedhi Mandal in Vizag Agency on Monday, two Maoists were gunned down by the police.

The police said that the exchange of fire took place around 20 kms from GK Veedhi Mandal headquarters in Vizag Agency. Suspecting the presence of Maoists in the forest area, the security forces swung into action and engaged in the exchange of fire on Monday morning.

However, the police are yet to establish the identity of the deceased Maoists. The police have intensified the combing operation following the exchange of fire.
