Two school teachers held for sexual harassment

Police arrested two government school teachers on for allegedly sexually abusing two girl students on Wednesday.

The arrested were identified as B. Venkateswara Rao and S. Sundara Rao, both teachers of the Government Primary School at Peddipalem under Anandapuram mandal in Vizag city. The Anandapuram police booked them under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and also under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Acts said assistant commissioner of police (North Zone) M. Trinath.

The police said that both the teachers sexually harassed two girl students of the school and also molested them. The girlsi narrated the harassment by the two teachers to another teacher of the same school. Based on the statement of the two girls and complaints by the other teacher, the two teachers were arrested.

Sources in police said that the two teachers had sexually harassed some more girls and had threatened the students and women teachers in the school with dire consequences.
