Unidentified man jumps from metro station in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An unidentified man in his mid 30s allegedly jumped from the concourse level of the Chaitanyapuri metro station in Hyderabad on Saturday morning. Police suspect that the man was in an inebriated condition and was attempting to commit suicide. He was rushed to Osmania hospital, where he is being treated for a severe head injury. His identity is yet to be found out, said police officials.

On Saturday at around 12 pm, the victim jumped from the metro station. Alerted by passersby, the L&T staff noticed him lying in a pool of blood and moved him to the hospital immediately.

Later, a complaint was lodged at the Saroornagar police station, under whose jurisdiction the metro station falls under.

Police said they didn't find any documents in the victim's possession to find out his identity. He didn't even carry a mobile phone also. Based on his attire, it is suspected that he could be a homeless man.

However, police are waiting for his recovery to know more details. Only after he recovers and speaks, can the details of his identity and the motive be known. As he didn't have a metro ticket, it is not clear if he was on his way to board a metro.

Meanwhile, hospital sources said that the victim is still in an unconscious state and his condition is being monitored.
