Valmiki theatrical trailer: Varun Tej looks promising

Hyderabad: The two-minute trailer starts with a group of women chatting about the shortage of movies that can be watched along with family members when a young director, Atharva Murali takes up the challenge of making a family entertainer at any cost.

This is then followed by the mega hero's introduction as a local and ruthless gangster, Gaddalakonda Ganesh. "Bet on me and you will win, but never bet against me, you will die," he warns his detractors. "If nobody knows that you exist, what is the point in living this life?" he questions a local thug. We then hear the famous chartbuster from the late Sridevi and Shoban Babu 'Yelluvachi Godharamma ...' playing in the background as he flirts with his love interest Pooja Hegde.

Directed by Harish Shankar, the movie is a remake of the Tamil superhit, Jigarthanda. Featuring Atharvaa Murali, Pooja Hegde and Varun Tej in the lead roles, Valmiki has garnered huge hype for Varun's retro classic look in the last couple of weeks. After a good run at the box office with Kanche, Antariksham, Fidaa, F2 Fun and Frustration, Varun has pinned high hopes on Valmiki. The flick is produced by Ram and Gopi Achanta under the banner 14 Reels Plus and is set to release worldwide on September 13th.
