Hyderabad: Telangana Telugu Yuvatha President Tulla Veerender Goud resigned Telugu Desam Party on Monday. The son of veteran leader T Devender Goud, Veerender contested from Uppal Constituency in 2018 Assembly elections and was defeated by TRS candidate B Subhash Reddy.

In a letter addressed to TDP President Chandrababu Naidu, Veerender asserted that he entered politics inspired by his father. He added that his father proved that an educated person from a backward caste could do wonders. He also praised Naidu for his hard work and administrative expertise. “It is those qualities that encouraged me to work under your guidance,” Goud wrote in the letter.

However, Veerender alleged that the yellow party compromised on its core values. “The party shifted from its ideology for political necessities,” he wrote. He commented that the party would lose its soul if it compromises on its values. He declared that he could not continue in the party under present circumstances. It is learned that he is going to join BJP.
