Vet doc killers sent to 14-day remand; moved to Cherlapally jail

Hyderabad: It has been three days since the nation witnessed a horrific gang-rape and murder of a 26-year-old Veterinary doctor. She was subjected to a thoroughly planned and analysed assault at the late hours of Wednesday with her charred body found under the culvert of Shadnagar-Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway 44, on Thursday morning.

In further developments of the gut-wrenching case, police detained four people, namely, Mohammed Areef, Jollu Naveen, Jollu Shiva and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu for the gang-rape and murder of the vet doctor.

As the four rapists killers were lodged in Shadnagar Police station, locals, students from government schools and colleges held a protest in front of the Shadnagar police station as the four killers were supposed to be taken to the Court today.

As the public showed no signs of backing down, the police couldn't take them to Court, but the Judge came to the police station instead.

As a part of their protest, the locals also hurled slippers on police as they stopped the locals from entering the Shadnagar Police station, where the locals were lodged.

The accused have also been sent to a 14-days judicial remand and have been shifted to Cherlapally jail from Shadnagar Police station under tight security.
