Anantapur: Two policemen of II Town police station in Hindupur of Anantapur district came under criticism for drinking seized liquor on the police station premises only.The video of the two police constables, Tirumalesh and Noor Mohammed, consuming liquor on duty in the police station went viral.
Recently, the officials of the Special Enforcement Bureau ( SEB) seized Karnataka-based liquor when some persons were transporting it from Karnataka to Hindupur. The seized liquor was stored in the II Town police station in Hindupur for further investigation into the case.

The duo — Tirumalesh and Noor Mohammed were seen drinking the seized liquor by sitting in chairs in a relaxed mood. Usually, the police arrest people drinking alcohol in public places. But, in this case, the police have ignored all the norms and tarnished their image by drinking the liquor in the police station.
Sources said that a majority of the government liquor outlets in Hindupur have been closed as most of them are in the Covid-19 containment zones. The police department is likely to initiate action against the two constables for their in disciplinary action. The video was recorded by someone in the police station and circulated to others.
