Videograph the postmortem, preserve bodies till Dec 9th: HC to State

Telangana High Court has directed the State Government to preserve the dead bodies of the four deceased accused suspects who were killed in the encounter on Friday be preserved by the State till 08:00 p.m. on 09.12.2019. It also directed that the video of the post-mortem being conducted in Government Hospital Mahabubnagar be handed over to the Principal District Judge, Mahaboobnagar after completion of the post-mortem of all the accused in a Compact Disc form or pendrive.

The Division Bench comprising of Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao and Justice K. Lakshman passed orders to this effect on Friday night after conducting an urgent House Motion hearing at 8 pm. A representation was received in the Office of the Chief Justice around 06:00 p.m. on Friday requesting Judicial intervention in regard to the above incident alleging it to be a extra judicial killing of the four

accused persons who were allegedly involved in rape and murder of

Disha (name changed) on 27.11.2019. With the Chief Justice on leave

today, the second Division Bench took up this matter as a Public Interest Litigation petition and asked the Advocate General of the state to be present for the hearing at 8 pm.

Advocate General, B.S. Prasad, informed the Bench that the post-mortem of the four accused persons is being done in the Government District Hospital at Mahaboobnagar under the supervision of the Superintendent of that Hospital and a forensic team of Doctors from Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad. He also stated that the post-mortem was being videographed.

The Bench directed the Principal District Judge, Mahaboobnagar to

receive the video recordings immediately after post mortem and hand it over to the Registrar General of the High Court of Telangana by Saturday evening. It also asked the AG to communicate the Court order to all persons concerned and see that this order is implemented. It

posted the case before the Chief Justice Bench for hearing on 09-12-2019 at 10:30 a.m.
