Vizag cops rescue kidnapped two-year-old boy

Visakhapatnam: A two-year-old boy who had been kidnapped three days ago was reunited with his parents on 24 July in Vizag city. The police, after a search of nearly 24 hours, tracked down the kidnappers with the help of CCTV footage from the TSR complex area (near the RTC bus complex). The boy was rescued from the Phool Bagh Colony of Vizianagaram Town.

The two-year-old, S. Ganesh, was kidnapped on the night of 21 July while he and his parents were sleeping by the roadside near the TSR complex in Vizag.

The Vizag police arrested three persons - Patan Salman Khan (19), Shail Subhani (19), and Bandaru Roshan Raja - for kidnapping the boy. The three friends are residents of the Phool Bagh Colony in Vizianagaram. The police also arrested a woman in connection with the case. The city police chief, Rajeev Kumar Meena, said Roshan Raja's aunt S. Gowri wanted to adopt a child.

On 21 July, the three men came to Vizag city in an auto-rickshaw and visited the house of Raja's mother-in-law in the Simhachalam area in the city. Later, they came to the RTC complex area for some food. There they noticed the boy with his parents. The trio waited until they were asleep, then kidnapped Ganesh and took him to Vizianagaram. The police said the three men had handed over the boy to Gowri.

Based on a complaint from the boy's father, Srinu, the Two-town police registered a case and started an investigation. Based on CCTV footage, the police identified the registration number of the auto-rickshaw, tracked down the kidnappers to Vizianagaram, and rescued the boy.
