Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam city police have arrested 26-year-old man for hacking into woman’s WhatsApp and e-mail account and blackmailing her for photos and conversations in the WhatsApp and e-mails.

The woman is a resident of Vizag city and also an entrepreneur. The accused hacked the woman’s mobile phone and her WhatsApp and Gmail account and used to send the photos and conversations in the mobile phone (WhatsApp, SMSes, Gmail) to the woman only and he used to blackmail her.

Shocked with the incident, the woman approached cyber-crime police station in Vizag city a couple of weeks ago. Inspector of Police, V Gopinath and his team investigated the case and arrested the accused on Wednesday night.

The accused Katuru Sailesh is a native of Undranjavaram in West Godavari district, and he is an Engineering (BTech in Information Technology branch) dropout. The investigation has revealed that Sailesh worked as Web-Developer in the woman’s company in 2017 and he is an expert in web developing and android application developing.

While he was working as web-developer in the woman’s company, Sailesh has taken control of the woman’s mobile phone by putting a bug on her mobile phone. Sailesh hid his identity and sent photos of the woman and her conversations by using proxy IP and dark websites.

We have investigated the case in several angles and finally arrested the accused Sailesh. Cyber fraudsters may land trouble even after they find innovative ideas to evade the police, said Gopinath.
