Wedding trip turns tragic; three killed in Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway

Hyderabad: A trip to attend their friend’s sister’s wedding on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway ended in tragedy for a techie and two engineering graduates. They lost their lives in an accident at Shadnagar on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway on Friday. Six other passengers sustained injuries in the crash, in which the car crashed into a divider and landed off-road on the opposite side. They were all travelling to Anantapur for the wedding. Bhaskar, a techie, and Venki died on the spot, while their friend Abhilash succumbed to injuries after the incident, said the police officials.

While travelling on the National highway, the driver tried to overtake another vehicle. In the process, he lost control and rammed into the divider. As the car was travelling at a very high speed, it toppled multiple times and landed in a pit beside the road in the opposite direction.

Three of them died, and two of them sustained severe injuries in the incident. Their condition is said to be critical, said the police officials. Further investigation is underway.
