Telangana : At a time when the entire police force in Telangana is working tirelessly to fight the spread of Corona virus, a police constable has come under the scanner for inviting a large number of guests to his daughter's birthday party during the lockdown.
Nagaraju, a police constable posted at Gundala police station under Warangal police commissionerate, organised his daughter’s first birthday party at his house. What's worse, he invited several people to the party held outside his quarter which is located close to the police station. Videos of the birthday party, which started around noon and continued till evening, went viral on social media, even as the party was in progress on Thursday.
Besides the family members, several relatives and a handful of local politicians were in attendance. Further, it was found that there were arrangements for food and alcohol for the guests. Though there was a big crowd and music was played during the party, it went on without any interruption, raising questions of how senior officers had no knowledge of the party.
Nagaraju, speaking to the media, said only his family members attended and no outsiders were invited. Meanwhile, officers from the Warangal commissionerate has ordered the Gundala Inspector to inquiry into this.
