Whos behind union dharnas, questions Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Is it wrong to question the thousands of crores of rupees corruption in the electricity department? asks TPCC working president and Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy. Mr Revanth Reddy was questioning who is responsible for the protests staged by the electricity employees' unions.

Mr Revanth Reddy questioned, “Why are the electricity employees’ unions protesting against my criticism of the TRS government and the role of the TS Genco CMD Prabhakar Rao? Who is responsible for these protests, dharnas by the unions? What kind of action will be taken against those who are behind such dharnas and protests?."

Finding fault with the BJP-Telangana chapter president Dr K. Laxman, Mr Revanth Reddy asked what happened to his demand for a CBI enquiry into the existing corruption in the electricity department. “The BJP and the TRS are maintaining under the table friendship and protecting the interests of each other. The delay in the Bhadradri Power project is causing Rs 400 crore additional burden every year. the electricity department is borrowing money to pay salaries to employees. I demand that the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Genco CMD Prabhakar Rao answer these issues. The KCR family is looting public money. Congress continues to fight against the corrupt practices of the TRS government,” he said.

Mr Revanth Reddy highlighted saying that the BJP is suffering from internal rift as the party is divided over pro-KCR and anti-KCR factions.

The joint action committee (JAC) including employees of TS Transco, TS Genco and discoms have been demanding that Mr Revanth Reddy tender an unconditional apology to TS Genco CMD Prabhakar Rao. It may be recalled that Mr Revanth Reddy on Thursday said, “Mr Prabhakar Rao is telling lies regarding the power sector and it wouldn't be wrong shooting him at gunpoint.”
