Woman gets kidnapped by cab driver and his allies, eye witnesses alert the police

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a woman travelling in a cab was allegedly kidnapped by the cab driver and his friends near Sitaphalmandi railway station in the early hours of Sunday. Though there is no complaint with the Hyderabad police or the Railway police in this regard, a few locals who witnessed the incident have alerted police. With the inputs from the locals, police have started an inquiry. They are verifying CCTV cameras in the surroundings and also the movement of private vehicles that were found moving in the area at the time of the incident.

According to sources, the cab with two women were passing through the road near Sitaphalmandi railway station at Secunderabad in the city. When the vehicle was on the ramalayam street near the railway station, the driver pulled the vehicle off the road. As the vehicle slowed down, a few men approached the vehicle and forcefully opened the doors.

The driver along with the men, who were around six in number, pulled out both the women. Among the two women, one of them was pregnant. The driver and his friends forcefully made the other woman enter the vehicle and sped away, leaving the pregnant woman at the spot.

Locals informed media persons about the incident, but by the time media persons arrived at the spot, the pregnant woman disappeared from the spot. It was learned that when locals approached the pregnant woman’s rescue, she denied and moved away. While this alleged incident has created tension in the area, it has also put police on tenterhooks, as there is no clue of the victims or any complaint from the alleged victims.
