Woman injured after car runs over her at Maitrivanam

Hyderabad: A young woman sustained severe injuries when she was run over by a car after being hit by a speedy bike at Maitrivanam junction in Ameerpet of Hyderabad on Monday.

Identified as Alekhya, she was crossing the road when a speedy bike hit her. As she fell down, a car coming from same direction ran over her causing severe injuries. She was rushed to a private hospital where her condition is stated to be serious.

Police said she was on her way to metro station when the incident occurred. Police said she was crossing the road near Maitrivanam junction when a bike hit her. As she fell down, a car coming from the same direction ran over her.

Passersby immediately rushed to her spot, pulled her out from the car and shifted her to hospital.

Police said that the biker was speeding which led to the accident. She is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital at Maitrivanam.

SR Nagar police station registered a case against the biker and car driver. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the biker was not under the influence of alcohol. Police said further investigation is underway.
