YS Jagan keeps his promises in MLC seats

Amaravathi: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has kept his promise to Muslims by offering MLC ticket to Mohammad Iqbal. The YSRC has announced candidates for the three MLC tickets and picked Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana and Challa Ramakrishna Reddy along with Mohammad Iqbal.

Iqbal is a retired Rayalaseema IG and lost his election against Nandamuri Bala Krishna in the recently held assembly elections from Hindupur constituency in Anantapur district. But the Chief Minister while attending government’s Iftar party has said that he has given tickets to four Muslims and unfortunately Iqbal has lost. At that time Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy promised that he would make him an MLC. As promised he has picked his name for the first elections itself.

It is compulsory that Mopidevi Venkataramana should be elected as a public representative to continue as a Minister, thus Mr Jagan has given preference to him. Mopidevi has contested from Repalle constituency in Guntur district but didn’t win the elections. Meanwhile, Challa Rama Krishna Reddy who was promised an MLC by former Chief Minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu in 2014 and failed to keep up the promise has joined YSRC before elections. Mr Jagan assured him MLC if he helps to win Banaganapalle constituency. As YSRC won it, he has announced his name in the first MLC polls.

As all the three are MLA quota seats, it is obvious that they are making into the house. However, the YSRC Chief has shown his love for the members even if they fail to win in the assembly elections.

Police registers case on Nellore rural MLA

The police have registered a case on Nellore rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy after a head of local newspaper complained of an attack on the MLA in Nellore on Monday.

The newspaper head Dolendra Prasad has alleged that the MLA along with his followers attacked his office for writing negative articles on him. The reporter of the same newspaper a month ago leaked a voice record, where the MLA is using an abusive language. However, the audio clearly proved that the discussion on the clip is done before the elections.

The followers of the MLA says that the local newspaper started demanding money and blackmailing them. As the MLA refused to pay, they have begun writing negative articles intentionally though nothing wrong was done by MLA.
