YSRC leader says party not involved in protest against Naidus Vizag visit

Tirupati: Minister for Municipal Administration Botsa Satyanarayana came down heavily on the Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on 28 February. He said his party members were not involved in the protests against Mr Naidu's recent visit to Visakhapatnam, where he attended two marriages.

Speaking to the media he said that Mr Naidu had tried to obstruct progress and development in Visakhapatnam and the local people had responded by creating hurdles during the TDP chief's recent visit to the city. He said the YSRC was not involved in the protests at the airport.

The minister said Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been trying to develop Vizag, which was neglected during the TDP regime, like Hyderabad and Mumbai. He said that administration work had already started from Vizag after the three capital model was announced.

He also said that the list of beneficiaries eligible to get house sites has been prepared and construction of three lakh houses completed. The government is preparing guidelines to allocate the houses to the beneficiaries, the minister said, adding that measures will be taken to get permissions for house plans without leaving any scope for irregularities.

The minister said they had decided to contest local body polls in the state with 59 per cent reservations for BCs but the Telugu Desam Party leaders had obstructed the process of approaching the Supreme Court for stay orders.
