YSRCP to highlight TDPs nepotism, corruption in Parliament

Vijayawada: The YSRCP, on 14 September, said that it will raise the issues of irregularities in CRDA and APSFL during the previous TDP regime in the Parliament. COVID-19, Central aid, Special Category Status (SCS), and other issues will also be discussed, it said.

The YSRCP plans to highlight nepotism, manipulation, and corruption by people in high office who were privy to information and who leaked it to their close associates. It said that people who were in the know of Cabinet decisions, including Cabinet ministers, legislators, party associates, and their benamis, had reaped undue benefits by buying land ahead of the actual announcement.

The YSRCP claimed that beneficiaries of such transactions included TDP chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his family members, Vemuri Ravi Kumar Prasad, an NRI and close associate of Nara Lokesh, Paritala Sunita, Payyavula Kesavulu, Lingamaneni Ramesh, and other TDP leaders. The ministers and TDP leader redrew the boundaries of the capital area to suit their favoured few to keep their landholding at an advantageous place, the YSRCP alleged.

The ruling party also said that irregularities in the AP State Fibernet Limited (APSFL) would be highlighted in the Parliament which involves the then CM Mr. Naidu, information technology minister Nara Lokesh and technical advisor to the government Vemuri Harikrishna Prasad. The order went to Terra Software owned by the family of Harikrishna Prasad, who held high office in the government, the YSRCP claimed, adding that undue favours were doled out during 2014-19.

The two issues would be raised to draw national attention to the unfair practices and irregularities of the previous government and its nepotism, corruption, and breach of oath of secrecy, the YSRCP said.
