12 Containment Zones identified in Hyderabad after 89 corona +Ve cases detected

Hyderabad : The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has set up 12 'containment clusters' to combat Covid-19 spread, as 89 positive cases were identified in these areas, said Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar. In these identified clusters public movements are monitored and barricading is done to keep check on public movement.

Following the instructions of the government, GHMC officials have identified , Ramgopalpet ,Shaikhpet , Red Hills, Malakpet -Santoshnagar, Chandrayangutta , Alwal, Moosapet, Kukatpally, Qutubullapur -Gajularamaram, Mayurinagar, Yosufguda, Chandanagar, as containment clusters.

" Instructions have been issued to sanitation workers for spraying of disinfectant in these clusters.Apart from this, a team consisting of health and GHMC officials will be attending each household to identify those who are symptomatic and getting them tested' commissioner - GHMC said.

In addition to this, Anjani Kumar, Police Commissioner Hyderabad said , Barricading and bandobust will continue till for a stipulated period .Out of 593 people who returned from Markaz , 63 people tested corona positive.With this 45 family members got effected with Covid-19. Those who are tested and found Corona positive are shifted to government isolation centers", Mr Kumar said.

Talking about the precautionary measures taken for the workers the GHMC adds, Masks have been supplied to all workers through Zonal Commissioners. Around 60 thousand reusable cloth masks are being stitched by Self Health Group women. 'Around 30 thousand cloth masks were made ready in a span of four days other 30 thousand masks will get ready ."An order is placed to supply Health kit consisting of gloves,mask ,soap,shoes and other required material and these kits will be distributed among workers in a weeks time, The commissioner - GHMC said .

The GHMC has also made arrangements for 330 mobile rythu bazars, to supply vegetables in various localities. As per the announcement made by the government 12 kg free rice and Rs 500 cash is distributed to migrant labour. To maintain social distancing marking are painted at groceries shops. As many as 3400 homeless have been identified and are accommodated in 14 night shelters ,as well as in 12 temporary shelters.
