2 years jail for school cleaner who outraged modesty of a minor

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old working as a school cleaner has been sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment for outraging modesty of a minor girl.

The issue came into light in April 2019, when the victim's parents filed a complaint with Chaitanyapuri police. According to the complainant the accused Sathyanarayana @ Sathish working as a cleaner in a school, used to pick students for regular classes and subsequently drops them home.'He (accused) would deliberately talk to the victim by offering her chocolates and attempted to touch her several times. One day after her classes, he took the victim to the school cellar and outraged her modesty, further the accused threatened her not to inform anybody' said the complaint.

The cops booked a case under 509, 506, 354(B) of the Indian Penal Code. Investigation concluded that the man had admitted to the crime.

A sessions court At LB Nagar convicted the accused Udthala Sathyanarayana @ Sathish to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs 1500.
