25-year-old techie killed after overspeeding bike hits divider

Hyderabad: A techie was killed in an accident at Miyapur in Hyderabad on 13 February while he was returning home from a gym. The 25-year-old Duggina Vijay Kumar's speeding motorbike crashed into electric police and he died on the spot, said the police.

According to the Miyapur police, Vijay, a resident of Kukatpally, worked at Ensurity Technologies in Jubilee Hills. A fitness freak, he used to work out every day at Bodyline Gym in Bachupally.

On Thursday morning, he went to the gym, as usual, finished his workout and started for home. However, he lost control of his speeding bike along the Bachupally-Miyapur stretch. He hit the divider and crashed into an electric pole. Vijay fell from the bike and sustained multiple injuries, including a severe injury on the head, and died on the spot.

While speeding is suspected to be the cause of the accident, police are also looking into other reasons. A case has been registered at Miyapur police station and the body has been handed over to the family after a post-mortem at the Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. Further investigation is underway, said the police.
