Genpact techie commits suicide in Gachibowli

Hyderabad: The body of a techie who worked at Genpact was found hanging at his rented flat in Gachibowli on the night of 10 February. Police said the 26-year-old Malli Reddy Subramanyam Reddy had committed suicide.

A suicide note found at the spot explained that he took the extreme step over a failed relationship, the police said. In the note, he said nobody was responsible for his death and requested the police to not investigate the issue and trouble anyone.

According to the Gachibowli police, the victim, who was from Krishna district, had been living in a rented room at AP Housing Board colony in Gachibowli. He had been working as a software engineer at Genpact for the past two years. On Friday he returned home after work. He did not take any calls from his sister and cousins.

Worried about him, they came to his room on Monday and found the room locked from inside. With the help of police and the house owner they broke the doors and found his body hanging from the ceiling fan. When interrogated, his sister and cousins said they had no clue why he killed himself. They told police they had not observed any abnormal behaviour and had called him on Sunday to meet him. Gachibowli police have registered a case and started an investigation.
