Techie commits suicide in Uppal as his marriage was getting delayed

Hyderabad: Unhappy at being unmarried, a young software professional committed suicide in Uppal, Hyderabad, on 10 Fearuary. P. Nikhil Goud hanged himself at his home. Uppal police have registered a case and started an investigation.

According to police, for the past few months the 24-year-old, a resident of Ramanthapur, had been asking his parents to find a girl for him and get him married. His parents, however, had insisted he settle down first before getting married.

On Monday evening, his parents went to work and Nikhil was at home alone. When the parents returned home late in the night, they found that Nikhil had hanged himself. They took him to the nearby Matrix Hospital at Ramanthapur where the duty doctor declared him brought dead.

Uppal police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and started an investigation. They said that except for the reasons given by his parents they did not suspect anything. However, they are investigating the reasons behind Nikhil's extreme step. His parents and colleagues will be questioned, said the police.
