2nd grand welcome accorded to 31 Covid-19 survivors of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate

Hyderabad: Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mahesh Bhagwat on Saturday, arranged a grand welcome to 31 Covid-19 survivors, the second batch from the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.

The Covid-19 survivors -- Yadaiah, CI of Meerpet police station, K. Satyanarayana DI of Meerpet police station, K. Shiva Kumar, SIP of Nacharam police station, Anantharamulu, SI of Meerpet police station, G. Venkat Reddy, SI of Meerpet police station, V. Maraiah, SI of Meerpet police station, M. Ravikumar, SI of Kushaiguda traffic police station and others, have been felicitated by the police band, amidst applause by the officers of Rachakonda police Commissionerate.

Each one of the officers shared their experiences, detailing the process of recovery and how they overcame the stress and stigma associated with getting infected by Coronavirus. They also spoke about how the doctors and their colleagues instilled confidence in them.

All of them expressed their gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, for calling each of them personally and speaking to them even after being discharged from the hospital.

They thanked Dr Avinash for providing the best treatment to each of them and also pursuing the procedure being followed in their treatment right from the date of detection.

They said that their families were happy with the Commissionerā€™s gesture of sending Chyawanaprash, dry fruits and medicine kit to their homes after their discharge from hospital. All of them underlined the importance of improving immunity through proper diet, medicines, home remedies like steam, warm water gargling and being mentally strong.

Addressing the survivors, Mahesh Bhagwat said that all the officers have been mentally strong and recovered from the disease with the help of their families.

He hoped that in a similar manner, the other officers who are now undergoing treatment will also recover and join duty. He said happiness was the best therapy medicine to boost immunity.

He said that Rachakonda police conducted medical examination on officers with comorbidities and given rest to 20 of them.

He suggested the police personnel do jalneti kriya, meditation, drink warm water, take warm and fresh food and have all medicines supplied by Ayush, have turmeric milk and consult the medical team as soon as they notice any symptoms.

He also cautioned all those who recovered from Covid-19 to take immunity-boosting pills like Vitamin C, Zinc and D3 and also Homoeo medicines being provided by the CP office.

He also advised all the staff and their family members to follow a daily routine which was mentioned in a poster designed by the department.

Mahesh Bhagwat said that as we have to live with Covid-19 till there a vaccine was found, we have to adopt a new and healthy lifestyle to be healthy and resilient. He encouraged the recovered officers to come forward and donate plasma and become life saviours for critical patients of Covid-19. He thanked Dr Avinash Reddy for being very supportive to their staff.

Sudheer Babu IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda said that the affected officers should neither be overconfident nor negligent but be cautious and follow medication and do exercise appropriately.

Sunpreet Singh, IPS, DCP, LB Nagar, Kum Rakshita Murthy, IPS, DCP, Malkajgiri, Narayan Reddy, DCP, Bhongir, Yadagiri, DCP (Crime), Saleema, ADC, She Teams, Shilpavalli, ADCP Admin, Dr Avinash Reddy and other officers were among those who welcomed the Covid-19 survivors.
