Rajahmundry: The police on Wednesday arrested four persons, including three juveniles in connection with the sensational murder of a school teacher (Head Master) in Kakinada. It may be recalled that the head-master of Upper Primary School, Repur Village, Patnam Venkata Rao (50) was found murdered at his residence at Toorangi, a suburb 10 kms from Kakinada Town of East Godavari district on September 14.

East Godavari superintendent of police, Adnam Nayeem Asmi on Wednesdy said that they arrested Isukapati Yeshraju (23) and three juveniles for murdering Venkata Rao for a gain.

They said that Venkata Rao and his wife lived Toorangi village. Rao had engaged Yeshraju and his friend G. Sateesh to harvest coconuts near his home a month ago. Seeing that Rao was a rich man, Yeshraju decided to loot the gold and cash from Rao’s home.

On September 12, Venkata Rao’s wife left for Hyderabad to see their ailing daughter. Noticing that Venkata Rao was alone at home, Yeshraju and his team decided to commit the crime.

On the night of September 14 Yeshraju and three others entered into Venkata Rao’s house to loot gold and jewellery. They beaten and stabbed Venkata Rao to death.

Though they tried to open the almirah, they failed to open it. They also did not find any valuables in the house. After stealing Rs 2,000 cash, a watch and two mobiles phones they fled the scene.

Initially we failed to get concrete clues to solve the murder case. We got a vital clue, when one of the accused used the stolen mobile phone (Venkata Rao’s mobile phone). Based on that clue, we nabbed Yeshraju and three others and seized the weapons used in the crime, said Adnam Nayeem Asmi.

The police also said that Venkata Rao’s wife while leaving for Hyderabad had taken the gold and cash in the house as a preventive measure. Investigation also revealed that the gang has stolen some bikes and were involved in chain snatching offices. They have recovered two bikes, two gold chains an few other items from the gang.
