3,018 new COVID cases, highest spike in Telangana

Telangana reported 3,018 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 1,11,688 in the state.
Ten new deaths are reported on August 24 taking the total tally to 780. The fatality rate in the state is 0.69 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.84 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 475 new cases while Rangareddy reported 247 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigri 204 new cases while Warangal Urban reported 139 cases.
Around 1,060 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 85,223. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 76.30 per cent, which is approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 75.92% per cent.
The state currently has 25,685 active cases.
Of the total cases, 19,113 are under home isolation. Of those, 84 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 16.97 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 8.07 per cent of the total cases.
The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 53.87 % per cent. 46.13 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,958 vacant beds for COVID patients.
Around 11,585 regular beds, 4,763 oxygen beds, and 1,610 ICU beds are lying vacant in different state hospitals.
