441 passengers with travel history to coronavirus affected nations under surveillance in AP

Vishakapattnam: The Andhra Pradesh government has identified 441 passengers who arrived from COVID19 affected countries till March 9.

AP Health and Family Welfare department said all the passengers are under surveillance. The government has collected 34 samples of which 29 have tested negative. The results of the rest are awaited.

“Isolation rooms have been set up in every government hospital in Andhra. Cases are also being filed against medical shops which are overcharging for masks,” said Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas, Andhra Pradesh Health Minister,

Drug Control Administration of AP has suspended the license of nine more pharmacies for selling face masks at higher prices. The department asserted that the strict action will be taken against pharmacies found involved in fleecing people.

The health department asserted that adequate number of masks are available in the state.

Meanwhile, a three-year-old boy and his parents were tested positive for coronavirus at Ernakulam, in Kerala. The family had recently returned from Italy. The total number of coronavirus positive patients has now reached 40 in the country.
