Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh reported its fourth COVID-19 death after a 45-year-old man succumbed to infection in Kurnool on Monday.

With one more case reported from Guntur, the tally in the state has reached 304.

According to health authorities, the 45-year-old man reported to Government General Hospital in Kurnool on April 1. The doctors sent his swab for testing. The patient, who was suffering from type-II diabetic, however, died on April 3

Though the patient had no travel history, his reports came back positive after his death. Officials suspect he might have contracted the infection from people who returned from Delhi.

Over 90 percent of the total positive eases in Andhra Pradesh are linked to Tablighi Jamaat meeting in New Delhi.

So far, Kurnool district has reported 74 cases and Nellore 42 cases. They are followed by Guntur 33, Krishna 29, Kadapa 27, Prakasam 24, West Godavari 21, Visakhapatnam 20, Chittoor 17, East Godavari 11, and Anantapur 6 cases.
