55-year-old man jumps in front of metro, dead
By Bhartendu Sharma Published on 11 Sept 2019 5:45 PM ISTNew Delhi: A 55-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a metro at the Adarshnagar metro station on Wednesday. The incident was reported at 3 pm at the Azadpur Metro police station.
When the police reached the accident site, it was reported that an unidentified man aged 55- year-old had jumped in front of a metro train from platform number 1.
According to police, the victim succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot. There were no documents on the man which could reveal his identity.
On further inquiry, the victim has been identified as Anil Gupta, a resident of Majlis Park in New Delhi.
The reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
