Nizamabad: A 55-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the rape of two minor girls, aged seven and eight years, at Jankampet village, Nizamabad. The accused is said to be the neighbor of the girls. The accused lured both the girls with chocolates. Police told that the accused has been sexually assaulting the girls for the last five days, after the parents of the girls left for work.

The incident came to light after the girls complained of stomach ache to their parents. When the parents questioned the girls, they told about their neighbour. On knowing about the incident, the villagers caught the accused and beat him up. Later, they handed him over to the police. Ganaga Prasad, father of the victim, then lodged a complaint with the Yedapally police.

“We received a complaint from the from victim’s father that the accused, Narayana, four days back had forcefully raped two minor girls, after which we reached the spot and started our investigation. We have arrested the accused and booked a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO), 2012 . We have sent both the girls for medical examination,” told SI Yellaiah Goud, Yedapally police station to NewsMeter.
