6 RTC employees arrested for damaging buses, sent to remand

Hyderabad: As many six Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees working at Mehdipatnam depot in Hyderabad were arrested by Langar Houz police on Friday. The six were accused of damaging an RTC bus during the strike.

The six employees who are participating in the strike have been alleged to have damaged the window panes of a city bus that set out of the depot on October 9, Wednesday.

They had allegedly obstructed the bus from moving out of the depot. Based on a complaint from the depot authorities, a case was registered under charges of wrongful restraint, causing damage and also under charges of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

The six were produced before the court and sent to remand. Since the employees began a strike on Saturday, there have been several incidents of stone-pelting and damage to window panes of the RTC buses in different parts of the state. However, it is being said that trouble mongering youths were involved in these incidents.
