80-year-old man held for raping 3-year-old girl in Warangal

Hyderabad: An 80-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping a 3-year-old girl in Warangal of Telangana. The accused is a neighbour of the child and is known to her, said the police.
The kid usually plays outside her house and often goes to the octagenarian's house to play, said the police. On Sunday afternoon, when the girl was busy playing, the man called her to his house. He then took her to an isolated place in their neighbourhood.
The senior citizen allegedly sexually assaulted the kid. She was rescued after passersby were alerted by her cries and reached the spot. They caught the man red-handed, thrashed him and gave him to the police.
The police registered a case of rape under POCSO and sent the child for medical examination. She was then handed over to her parents.
