On Monday, ABVP activists organised a massive rally protesting the heckling of Union Minister Babul Supriyo, who visited JU last week to attend an event hosted by the party.
Kolkata Police stopped ABVP cadres from entering the university, and the protesters tried to break police barricades to enter the varsity.
Later, the party supporters pelted stones at police officials, leading to a violent interaction. Amid the chaos, students and teachers gathered outside and formed a human chain to resist the ABVP activists.
