ACB arrests Rangareddy official for demanding bribe
By Newsmeter Network Published on 20 Aug 2020 1:56 PM GMTHyderabad: Sleuths of the anti-corruption bureau nabbed Superintendent of the survey and land records department in Rangareddy district on 20 August for taking bribe.
Bommireddy Venkateshwar Reddy, who worked as a superintendent in the office of the assistant director, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from T. Venkateshwar Reddy, a resident of Khajaguda, to forward an application to the RDO's office in Rajendra Nagar. The application was to survey and fix the boundaries of the land and further process the file to the AO's office after the receipt of the same from the RDO's office.
The amount was recovered from the front left pocket of Venkateshwar Reddy's pants. A chemical test of the cash yielded a positive result.
He has been arrested and produced before the special judge of SPE and ACB cases at Hyderabad.
