ACB sleuths continue to crack down on illegally-constructed buildings

Visakhapatnam: The Anti Corruption Bureau continued its raids for the second day on buildings that were allegedly constructed illegally in the jurisdiction of municipal corporations. The ACB sleuths observed that the town planning officials had not served any notice to the building owners despite irregularities.

In Visakhapatnam, five illegal buildings were detected in Madhurawada and Gajuwaka zones. At Indira Nagar, a building owner obtained permission for an individual house (3 units) but constructed an apartment (8 units). Several other violations were also noticed. However, no notice was issued by the town planning officials. Similarly, in several other cases, the house owners had built houses without any approval.

In Srikakulam, the ACB sleuths, during verification, found four illegal buildings. Even though no plan was approved, no action was initiated by the town planning division. In Vizianagaram, M/s Lee-Paradise Function Hall in Ring Road had carried on an unauthorised construction on land that belongs to the endowment department. The land owner had not obtained any approval for the building plan.
