Hyderabad: Three youngsters including an Accenture employee died and one sustained severe injuries in an accident involving drunk driving at Saroornagar in the wee hours of Sunday. The victims were returning home after partying all Saturday night. Vinayak, an Accenture employee and two others, Sairam and Sainath died on the spot, while Kalyan sustained multiple injuries.

According to police, the victims, all residents of Champapet, had consumed alcohol till late in the night and went out in their car for food. Reportedly, the Accenture employee Vinayak was driving the car.

After having food at a Dhaba near Gurramguda, they were returning home from Sagar Ring Road. Midway when they were passing through Karmanghat area, the person behind the wheel, lost control vehicle due to over-speeding and the vehicle swerved towards the extreme left and crashed into the wall of a shop on the roadside. Three died on the spot, while the fourth was severely injured.

Initial inquiries revealed that driving under the effect of alcohol combined by speeding led to the accident. Police registered a case and started the investigation. It may be noted that on Tuesday night, a youngster driving his car under the influence of alcohol, rammed into vehicles parked outside a hotel, killing a school owner and injuring four others. At least, five vehicles were damaged in the incident.

There are five e-challans against Vinayak since 2018 for over speeding.
