Claim: Donald Trump speaks in support of Onijah Robinson's love story and praises Imran Khan.
Fact: The claim is false. It is an AI-generated video.

Hyderabad: Onijah Robinson, an American woman who gained online fame as the so-called "Queen of Pakistan," went viral after her story of traveling to Pakistan for love surfaced on social media. According to The Express Tribune, Robinson flew from the U.S. to Karachi in October 2024 to meet 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she had met online. She reportedly made the journey believing his promise of marriage. However, her current whereabouts remain unclear, with conflicting reports suggesting she may be in New York or detained in Dubai.

Amid the buzz, a video claiming to show pakistanU.S. President Donald Trump commenting on Onijah Robinson’s love story, stating that "true love must succeed" and urging for her to be respected and reunited with her beloved has gone viral on social media.

In the same video, Trump is also heard praising former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, calling him a "great man" who believes in justice and the power of the people. He asserts that justice must prevail and that every leader should have the opportunity to serve their people. The video concludes with Trump expressing hope for strong U.S.-Pakistan relations.

An Instagram user shared the clip, which features Trump speaking alongside a split-screen image of Robinson.(Archive)

In the video, Trump could be heard saying,”Today, we are talking about something very special. Our American girl has come to Pakistan for true love. And I always say, love is a great thing. It knows no borders. We want her to be taken care of, to be respected, and most importantly, to meet her beloved. Because true love must succeed. This is my promise. And yes, Imran Khan, a great man who has always believed in justice and the power of the people, whether he is in jail or not, people remember him. They love him. I say, justice must prevail. And every leader should have the opportunity to serve their people. So let love succeed. Let justice win. And may the USA and Pakistan always remain strong.”

Fact Check:

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The video in question has been manipulated using AI.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral clip led to an X post from the official Trump campaign account, Team Trump, dated April 26, 2023. This confirms that the original footage predates Onijah Robinson’s viral story and has been altered to include fabricated audio.

The video in the post closely resembles the viral clip; however, in the original footage, Trump was discussing inflation—not Onijah Robinson.

Following this lead, NewsMeter found multiple similar videos on the Donald J. Trump Official YouTube channel, uploaded nearly a year ago.

These videos were part of Trump's 2024 U.S. presidential election campaign, further confirming that the viral video is neither recent nor authentic.

To verify the authenticity of the audio, we analysed the video using AI detection tools Hive Moderation and Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector.

The analysis found that the audio had a 99.2% probability of being AI-generated, according to Hive Moderation, while Hiya assigned an authenticity score of 1/100, indicating a high likelihood of deepfake manipulation.

Additionally, several inconsistencies in the video indicate the use of deepfake technology. These include poor and blurry video quality, an unnatural separation between Trump’s neck and body, robotic lip movements that do not sync with his speech, and distortions in his hair—clear signs of digital manipulation.

Furthermore, a search for credible news reports linking Trump to Onijah Robinson or any statements he might have made about Imran Khan yielded no results. There is no evidence of him making such remarks.

Therefore, NewsMeter concludes that the viral video is AI-generated and does not show Donald Trump talking about Onijah 'Queen of Pakistan' Robinson’s love story or Imran Khan.
