AI flight with 156 passengers from London arrive at Vijayawada Airport

All the non-resident Indians were immediately shifted to hotels for 14 days of mandatory institutional quarantine. The passengers shall have to bear the expenditure.
The 156 people, who were stranded in London due to Covid-19 lockdown, expressed pleasure after arriving in Vijayawada.
Immediately after the closing of the airport on March 23 following the lockdown, no commercial flight had landed in Vijayawada. The staff of the Airport also expressed pleasure over the resumption of flight operation.
Krishna District Collector A Mohammed Imtiaz said the medical and health department personnel screened all the 156 passengers at the Airport and shifted them to the quarantine centers.
Mohammed Imtiaz said that all the passengers landing have to stay in institutional quarantine for 14 days.
Two Air India flights with 314 Indians stranded in Abu Dhabi and Manila under Vande Bharat Mission Phase-II arrived at Visakhapatnam airport on Tuesday night.
Vizag airport director M Raja Kishore said soon after their arrival, passengers underwent a series of examinations.
The Andhra Pradesh government said that few more flights from London and Saudi Arabia will land at Vizag and Vijayawada Airports in the coming days.
