Kurnool, June 4: The internal rift in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has spilled out into the open after senior leader AV Subba Reddy accused his party colleague Bhuma Akhila Priya and her husband Bhargava Ram of plotting to get him killed.
Subba Reddy alleged that Bhuma Akhila Priya and her husband Bhargav have promised a 'supari gang’ Rs 50 lakh to get him killed.
Subba Reddy said the couple’s supporters have joined hands with Ravichandra Reddy, Ram Reddy, and Sanjora Reddy to bump him off. However, the police have foiled their plan, he claimed.
Subba Reddy alleged that Akhila Priya and her husband have been trying to eliminate him because they are afraid of his popularity in the Allagadda area of Kurnool. The political rivalry was the only reason for the murder plan, Subba Reddy said.
Demanding police protection, he urged the cops to arrest Akhila Priya and her husband.
It may be recalled that Akhila Priya's husband is facing two cases in Allagadda of Kurnool district.
The investigation has revealed that Rami Reddy and Ravichandra Reddy are allegedly involved in more than three murder cases, Reddy added.
“There was no financial dispute between me and Akhila Priya. The political rivalry was the only reason for the murder plan. The supari gang has procured a country-made revolver. Few other people from Bihar have been called in to execute the plan. Fortunately, I was saved,” Reddy added.
