Alcoholic man kills wife over family dispute at SR Nagar in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In yet another violent incident that occurred under the influence of alcohol, a man working as a driver at the government-run TB and Chest Hospital, also known as Erragadda Chest Hospital, has allegedly killed his wife over family disputes at SR Nagar in Hyderabad. It was found that the accused, Sanjeeva, had stabbed his wife, Rani, multiple times with a kitchen knife. The incident happened on Sunday night and it came to light on Monday morning.

According to SR Nagar police, who are investigating the case, Sanjeeva and Rani were residing at the quarters provided by the hospital. For many years, the couple had been quarrelling due to family issues. Sanjeeva’s addiction to alcohol added to the problems.

On Sunday night too, he came home heavily drunk and picked up a quarrel with his wife. In a fit of rage, Sanjeeva picked up a knife from the house and stabbed Rani repeatedly. She collapsed in a pool of blood and died on the spot and Sanjeeva fled the spot.

SR Nagar police rushed to the place and began investigation.

According to sources, Sanjeeva is in police custody and is being interrogated.

In another violent incident, a beggar was brutally murdered by unknown persons at Bahadurpura near Hyderabad zoo. Police suspect the role of fellow beggars or someone who could be addicted to alcohol or whitener.
