Amit Shahs Hyderabad rally postponed in the wake of coronavirus outbreak

Hyderabad: As Corona virus has now spread to Delhi, Hyderabad, Agra, and Jaipur, Union Home minister Amit Shah's public rally in Hyderabad has been postponed. The decision was taken in view of the precautions being undertaken by the Central government to arrest the spread of the deadly virus by reducing mass gatherings. The party will decide a new date for Mr Shah's visit and the public rally later, said Krishna Sagar Rao, official spokesperson of Telanagana BJP.

The total number of positive cases for Corona virus rose to 28, including 16 Italian tourists.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr Shah had said they will not be a part of any Holi celebrations in the wake of the Corona virus outbreak. Mr Shah had tweeted, "Holi is a very important festival for we Indians but in the wake of Coronavirus, I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan celebration this year. I also appeal everyone to avoid public gatherings and take a good care of yourself & your family (sic)."



Mr Modi, too, had tweeted, "Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan programme (sic)."

BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda said, "The world is battling COVID-19 virus. Countries and medical fraternity are jointly making efforts to contain it's spread. Keeping this in mind, this year I will neither celebrate Holi nor organise Holi Milan."
