Amrutha sent away before Maruti Rao’s final rites

Hyderabad: High drama unfolded when the final rites of Maruti Rao were being performed at the Hindu Smashana Vatika at Shabunagar in Miryalaguda town, when his daughter Amrutha came to pay her last respects on Monday.

She was escorted by police teams to the burial ground but family members stopped her from seeing her father. Meanwhile, relatives raised “Amrutha go back” slogans and opposed her presence on the solemn occasion.

Though police tried to intervene and convince the family, they were not willing to allow Amrutha to see his mortal remains. Police personnel managed to bring her into the premises, but could not go ahead, due to vehement resistance and the near-chaos situation that prevailed. With no other option, Amrutha had to leave the place without even having a last look of her father.

It is learnt that police also did not insist on her going ahead, as it was a sensitive issue. After she left the place, the situation became normal. Maruti Rao’s younger brother Sravan performed the last rites. A large crowd from across the town was present.
